Special Thanks for November 27th



ASCET Would like to thank The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress for their attendance and words of encouragement and support, Mike Collett ( Air Atlantic ) for the successful hand-over of Shackleton WR 963 to the ASCET Charity Trust on the 27th November 2008 in DAK house Bagington. We acknowledge the contribution from AA's chief pilot John Corley who though unwell with flu on the day conducted a set of safe taxi runs. And we would like to extend thanks to Ben Cox and Pete Jolly who were the flight engineers for the taxi runs. David Hencken retired Group Captain and Ex- Commanding Officer of 8 Squadron who brought his considerable experience to the final fast taxi demonstration resulting in 63 lifting her tail. All the ground and Ramp staff for their quick thinking and calm application during the engine fire, and to John Corley for his skill with passenger evacuation. Warren Doyle for creating a fabulous web site. Gudge and Roger for the efforts put in working for hours and hours over the past months repairing systems and ensuring the day was a success, The SPT team, without whom we would not have proceeded so far, Tony Bove and Richard Parr and to all the guests in attendance we thank you for your support and your stamina through the bitter winter weather of the 27th. A day for all to remember.


A special big thank you to John Cubberly a true leader and gentleman.
